Patriots could be facing off against their former 1st-round pick in Miami
"With the Dolphins in need of reinforcements on the offensive line, Miami is signing former Patriots offensive lineman Cole Strange off the Cleveland Browns' practice squad, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero."
"Strange was one the top draft whiffs in recent memory for the Patriots, with New England selecting the former offensive lineman out of UT Chattanooga with the 29th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft."
"Strange started 29 games on the offensive line for New England from 2022-24, with a torn patellar tendon ending his 2023 season and forcing him to miss nearly a year while rehabbing back."
The Miami Dolphins signed former Patriots offensive lineman Cole Strange off the Cleveland Browns' practice squad to bolster a thin offensive line. New England drafted Strange 29th overall in 2022 out of UT Chattanooga, a selection that failed to meet team needs. Strange started 29 games from 2022–24 but suffered a torn patellar tendon that ended his 2023 season and required nearly a year of rehabilitation. He fell on the depth chart and was released, landing on the Browns' practice squad before Miami signed him. He could play Sunday after Miami lost starting right guard James Daniels to a Week 1 pectoral injury.
