Matt LaFleur declined to say whether his view of the tush push changed after the team’s failed attempt to ban the play. The NFL owners voted down a Packers-led proposal to eliminate the play, falling two votes short of the 24 required. Former Packers president Mark Murphy, LaFleur and GM Brian Gutekunst described the play as a safety hazard. LaFleur said the best way to stop the play is to prevent short-yardage situations where it can be used. The Eagles ran the tush push 21 times in eight games with a 76.5% conversion rate; the Packers ran it five times.
