Packers' Dontayvion Wicks even impressed the official: 'These receivers are that good'
""These receivers are that good," NFL vice president of instant replay Mark Butterworth said in a post-game pool report. "He controls the ball with his hand, but with his hands or arm above his body, while pulling it down, by rule, he can actually pull that ball into his body as he completes the process of a catch. "We saw control with his right foot down and his left down in the end zone and then a third step out of the end zone.""
""I know a lot of great receivers that have struggled with drops and then overcame that," Packers coach Matt LaFleur said."
""He's got great hands. He's a natural plucker of the football, and so it's never like a lack of con"
Dontayvion Wicks caught a pair of touchdowns in the Packers' 31-24 Thanksgiving victory over the Lions, with one score reviewed and upheld by replay. The replay official explained Wicks controlled the ball and completed the catch with both feet down before stepping out of the end zone. Wicks had six catches for 94 yards, narrowly missing his first 100-yard game, and made the fourth-down clinching reception. The performance contrasted with his league-leading dropped-pass total from last season and reflected improved consistency when healthy. Coach Matt LaFleur praised Wicks' hands and ball-plucking ability.
