Justine Lindsay says she was fired from the Carolina Panthers after making history as the NFL's first out trans cheerleader in 2022. She left the team in August and alleges the firing was motivated by transphobia, the return of Donald Trump to the White House, subsequent anti-trans legislation, and the hiring of a new coach. She says former teammates know the truth. She is developing a documentary and plans to compete in the Miss International Queen pageant next year. She previously said she stepped away to focus on pageantry, community involvement, and educating younger generations.
