NFL will investigate Dolphins' Tyreek Hill for abuse allegations
"The NFL said Wednesday it will investigate abuse allegations against Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill made by his extranged wife, Keeta Vaccaro. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told ESPN it's "standard policy" for the league to review such matters. A court document filed by Vaccaro, and obtained by TMZ, details eight instances of violence against her by Hill during their marriage. Hill's attorney, Julius Collins, denied the allegations in a statement he sent to the Sun-Sentinel on Wednesday, calling it "an attempt by Ms. Vacarro, her mother and/or her counsel to shake Mr. Hill down.""
""I'm aware of it, the organization is," he said. "We've been in communication with the NFL and we're going to let the process play out. As far as our team's focus, it is 100% on the Patriots and that's what it should be, (on) a division opponent and on the heels of an undesirable outing (last week's 33-8 loss against Indianapolis). We're firmly there.""
The NFL opened an investigation into abuse allegations against Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill after a court document from his estranged wife, Keeta Vaccaro, alleged eight instances of violence during their marriage. Hill's attorney denied the allegations and described them as an attempt to extort him. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel confirmed the organization is aware and is communicating with the NFL while maintaining team focus on the upcoming game against the Patriots. Hill and Vaccaro are in the process of ending their 17-month marriage. Hill has not publicly commented and recorded four receptions for 40 yards in the season opener.
