NFL: LA Rams set to start Stafford at quarterback
""I do believe that we'll be at our best with him out there," McVay said."
""Backs are sometimes interesting things," Stafford said after his first full week of practice. "It's not cut and dry what's what and how you're going to feel, so I really appreciate our team and our head coach and everybody taking a day-to-day approach with me doing everything they can to try and help me out.""
Matthew Stafford is expected to start at quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams' season opener against the Houston Texans despite missing the first month of training camp with an aggravated disk in his back. Stafford completed a full week of practice and is considered ready to play. Left tackle Alaric Jackson, who is dealing with lower leg blood clots, should be fit to play. Stafford is entering his 17th NFL season and has been with the Rams since 2021, winning Super Bowl LVI in 2022. The Rams won the NFC West with a 10-7 record and lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs.
