NFL: Jets hire ex-quarterback Frank Reich as new offensive coordiner
""Frank has a rare combination of experience, creativity and calm under pressure," Glenn said in a statement. "He's lived this game from every angle, as a quarterback in this league and as a coach who's led offenses at the highest level. He understands offense and how to use the strengths of players, and I'm looking forward to how he will help this team have success.""
"Former NFL head coach Frank Reich has returned to the New York Jets after being appointed as the team's new offensive coordinator. The Jets confirmed Reich's hiring on Wednesday, eight days after parting company with offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand, as head coach Aaron Glenn continues a major overhaul of his coaching staff."
"Reich, 64, joins the Jets following a significant shake-up that saw Glenn dismiss nine assistants from his original staff. He becomes the Jets' 12th different playcaller in the past 16 years. The appointment brings extensive experience to a struggling offense. Reich previously served as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts from 2018 to 2022 and the Carolina Panthers in 2023."
Frank Reich, 64, has been appointed offensive coordinator for the New York Jets. The Jets confirmed the hire eight days after parting ways with offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand. Head coach Aaron Glenn, who went 3-14 in his first season, will retain defensive control while giving full offensive responsibility to Reich. The Jets' offense finished 29th in scoring and total yards last season and faces quarterback uncertainty. Reich brings NFL head coaching experience with the Colts (2018–2022) and Panthers (2023) and spent 2025 as Stanford's interim head coach and then senior adviser.
