Rashee Rice accepted a six-game NFL ban for his role in a high-speed crash that injured multiple people. He pled guilty in July to two third-degree felony charges: collision involving serious bodily injury and racing on a highway causing bodily injury. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and ordered to pay $115,000 in medical costs to injured parties. Prosecutors say he drove a Lamborghini Urus at 119 mph, made multiple aggressive maneuvers, and struck other vehicles on a Dallas highway in March 2024. Rice issued a public apology for physical damage to persons and property. He will be eligible to return on October 19.

The NFL handed down its suspension after its own internal investigation, one week before the Chiefs are due to leave for Brazil, where they will play the Los Angeles Chargers in their season opener.
