Mark Sanchez won't return as Fox Sports analyst
""We can confirm that Mark Sanchez is no longer with the network," a Fox spokesperson told The Athletic. "There will be no further comment at this time.""
""I appreciate the opportunity FOX has given me in the booth and with their team," Brees said in a statement. "I hope my passion for this game is reflected in the knowledge and insights I provide to the fans each Sunday.""
Mark Sanchez will not return to Fox Sports as an analyst and is no longer with the network while he faces criminal charges related to an October 4 incident at the Westin Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. Sanchez confronted a truck driver and allegedly attacked and injured him; Sanchez was stabbed in the chest and spent a week hospitalized. The truck driver claims self-defense, has not been charged, and is suing Sanchez and Fox Sports for unspecified damages. Prosecutors charged Sanchez with a felony count of battery causing serious bodily injury and three misdemeanors including public intoxication. A trial is scheduled for December 11, though prosecutors expressed doubt about that date. Drew Brees will replace Sanchez on the broadcast team starting Week 11.
