Lions' playoff chances end with loss: 'It sucks'
"It sucks,"
"We'll reflect on the whole season after next week, but yeah, it sucks."
"At the end of the day you've got to tip your hat off to them, they had a good game plan, and we weren't ready,"
"Simple as that."
The Lions lost 23-10 to the Minnesota Vikings on Christmas Day and were officially eliminated from playoff contention with an 8-8 record. Jared Goff acknowledged the disappointment and said the team will reflect after the final game. The Vikings pressured Goff, sacking him five times and forcing five turnovers (two interceptions, three fumbles), which tied a career high. Detroit finished with a season-high six total turnovers after entering the contest with the fewest turnovers in the NFL through Week 16. Right tackle Penei Sewell credited the Vikings' game plan and said the Lions were not ready.
