Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and quarterbacks coach Ashton Grant place high expectations on Drake Maye entering the 2025 season. McDaniels expressed confidence in Maye’s preparation and emphasized daily work and continuous improvement opportunities. McDaniels noted this will be his first chance to coach a game with Maye and many other players and expects to learn alongside the team. McDaniels referenced joint practices and a preseason outing against the Vikings where Maye appeared to turn a corner. McDaniels said he could not ask Maye to do more and praised his efforts to master the system for the Raiders opener.
