Jets WR Arian Smith will be quick to help fill in for Garrett Wilson
"It feels good to hear that,"
"Just knowing that's a chance now, that excites me for sure to be able to make some plays downfield for us."
"We're going to miss G out there, but we can't sit here and sulk on losing a guy, even as valuable as G,"
"We got to continue to just kind of push forward . . . to get some wins."
Justin Fields pledged to be more aggressive and take more downfield chances. Arian Smith expressed excitement about increased opportunities given his speed. Garrett Wilson missed his second straight practice with a knee issue and may be unavailable Sunday, removing the Jets' leading receiver from the gameplan. The Jets entered 0-6 after a 13-11 loss in which the offense failed to score a touchdown and produced minus-10 passing yards. The next group of receivers has minimal production, and offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand emphasized a next-man-up approach.
