""I just have to keep reminding you every day we come to work of what you're capable of," Vrabel added to the entire team. "What you're capable of if we just work a little bit and we focus on our identity, and we start protecting this f****** thing. "Now we need each other protecting it, every single day," he added. "Practice our identity every single day, nothing's going to change. I promise you I'm not going to change.""
""Let me tell you something," Vrabel told the team in a video shared by the Patriots. "I'm happy for you. It's you. It's the players. Fellas, you guys go out there and do it.""
""We talked all week about [how] we were going to block one [field goal]. I didn't know we were going to make one, but we made it," he joked."
New England defeated Buffalo 23-20 in Buffalo when Andy Borregales' late 52-yard field goal gave the Patriots the lead and the win. Borregales made all three field goals on the night, and Stefon Diggs finished with 10 catches for 146 yards. Head coach Mike Vrabel handed out game balls to Diggs and Borregales and expressed confidence in the players while stressing the need for improvement. Vrabel said he was not surprised by the upset, urged daily work on the team's identity, called for mutual protection of that identity, and promised consistent coaching and corrective plans.
