
Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza is foregoing his final college season to enter the 2026 NFL Draft. Mendoza led the No. 1 Hoosiers to a 27-21 CFP National Championship victory over No. 10 Miami and a 16-0 season, throwing for 186 yards and scoring on a 12-yard run in the title game. Mendoza spent two seasons at Cal before transferring to Indiana, completing 72% of his passes for 3,535 yards with an FBS-leading 41 touchdowns and six interceptions, and rushing for 276 yards with seven scores. Mendoza is the overwhelming favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick, with the Raiders' ownership and general manager observed at the championship game. The 2026 NFL Draft will be held April 23-25 in Pittsburgh.
