""That's why I'm trying not to show all my emotions," Schottenheimer said. "You're going to see me skipping down the hall. I might even call the guys up and be like, 'Hey, guess who I just hung out with? He came to see me?' No, like I said, I'm a football junkie, and [he's] one of the best all time, man.""
""I'm pulling for you," Staubach said, adding, "I still love the Cowboys ... It's amazing how when I sit down and start watching the game, I feel like I'm out there.""
""I thought maybe you could use me, but maybe not ... I can still throw.""
The visit occurred in Frisco, Texas during Brian Schottenheimer's Friday news conference when Roger Staubach entered about six minutes in. Staubach called Schottenheimer his favorite coach, joked that he could still throw, and told the coach, "I'm pulling for you." Staubach, 83, is a Cowboys Hall of Famer who won two Super Bowls in the 1970s and earned the nickname Captain Comeback. He said he still loves the Cowboys and feels like he's out on the field when he watches games. Schottenheimer, named head coach Jan. 24, described being excited and struggling to hide his emotions after the visit.
