Former Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham gets long-awaited opportunity stepping in for injured Broncos starter Bo Nix
"I think every week going back to when I was backing up Russ, I've prepared the same every single week like I am the starter, just hasn't obviously been that way, minus two weeks,"
"My preparation hasn't changed one bit."
"I'm not focused on anything but Sunday,"
"What is my job on each and every play"
Jarrett Stidham will start for the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship after Bo Nix underwent surgery to repair a broken right ankle. Stidham has taken only 14 snaps — four kneel-downs — since training camp after losing the starting job to Nix, but he started two late-2023 games, going 20-for-32 for 224 yards and a touchdown with no turnovers in a 16-9 Week 17 win over the Chargers. A strong performance against a Patriots defense that generated nine sacks, six turnovers and allowed 19 points in recent playoff wins could elevate Stidham's standing as an NFL starter.
