Facing QB questions, Shedeur goes full mime
""ready to play right now.""
""If you see the quarterback play in the league right now, I know I'm capable of doing better than that," Sanders said."
""fluent in English and now you have to learn Mandarin.""
""focus is on this game""
Shedeur Sanders mouthed silent answers to reporters after the Browns announced Dillon Gabriel as the starting quarterback. Sanders faced criticism over comments about his role and pantomimed responses before a team media relations staffer ended the brief exchange. Sanders will remain the Browns' third-string quarterback while Joe Flacco serves as Dillon Gabriel's backup for the upcoming London game. Coach Kevin Stefanski said only that Flacco was the backup and that his "focus is on this game." Sanders earlier said he was "ready to play right now" and claimed he can perform better than many current quarterbacks. He did not receive first-team reps in training camp and produced mixed preseason results, including two touchdowns in one game and struggles in another that featured five sacks. General manager Andrew Berry compared Sanders' transition to the pros as like being "fluent in English and now you have to learn Mandarin."
