Ex-Patriots coach Dante Scarnecchia isn't panicking over Will Campbell's play
""I'll tell you what. I'm not firing this guy,""
""I'm putting him right back where he was.""
""Will's 22 years old, he's our left tackle,""
""He'll get better, he'll get stronger. ... There's plays he'd like to have back.""
Will Campbell labored in the Super Bowl, allowing 14 pressures as New England's offensive line faltered and Drake Maye was sacked six times and hit on 11 other plays in a 29-13 loss. Campbell had earlier been a liability in playoff wins over the Chargers and Texans before bouncing back in the AFC title game against the Broncos. Campbell missed four late-season games with an MCL injury and reported not feeling fully healthy during the playoffs. Former coach Dante Scarnecchia defended keeping Campbell at tackle, and head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed the team plans to keep him at left tackle and develop him further.
