"Former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh, who was run out of town last year, could be returning to the NFL's head-coaching ranks in 2026, as he is reportedly a finalist for the Tennessee Titans' gig. Saleh was let go by the Jets during the 2024 campaign, in which he went 20-36 in parts of four seasons in charge. But he returned to the San Francisco 49ers in 2025, where he served as defensive coordinator."
"The Titans are coming off a 3-13 season but do have last year's No. 1 overall pick, quarterback Cam Ward, as an intriguing centerpiece to build around. Saleh's track record in developing young quarterbacks is spotty, as he and the Jets failed to do much with former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson. Robert Saleh is reportedly a finalist for the Tennessee Titans head coaching position after being dismissed by the New York Jets during the 2024 season with a 20-36 record across parts of four years. He returned to the San Francisco 49ers in 2025 as defensive coordinator and helped the team reach the divisional round despite numerous injuries before a 41-6 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Saleh interviewed for openings with the Cardinals, Ravens, and Dolphins but is only reported as a Titans finalist. The Titans finished 3-13 and hold last year’s No. 1 overall pick, quarterback Cam Ward, while Saleh’s history developing young quarterbacks remains uneven.
