Ducks dominate after Gundy 'pours gas on fire'
"If you want to be a top-10 team in college football, you better be invested in winning. We spend to win,"
"Some people save to have an excuse for why they don't. ... I can't speak on their situation; I have no idea what they got in their pockets over there."
"For him to attack Phil [Knight], coach Lanning and our team was personal,"
"We were gonna keep the foot on the neck and make sure we score these points and try to break the scoreboard."
Oregon defeated Oklahoma State 69-3, the most lopsided loss for Oklahoma State since 1907 and the worst of the Gundy era. The week featured public back-and-forth about program budgets, with Oklahoma State's coach criticizing Oregon's spending and Oregon's coach responding that top programs must invest to win. Oregon quarterback Dante Moore and the team used the comments as added motivation. Moore threw for 266 yards and three touchdowns. Oregon produced explosive plays early, including a 59-yard touchdown run and a 65-yard touchdown pass, and dominated the game from the start.
