"Just a little bit of runny nose, little bit of cough,"
"But shoot, we battle the elements and came out with the win. That's what mattered."
"Ah, naw, nothing like that. Just another day, just another day."
Drake Maye torched the Jets, completing 19-of-21 passes for 256 yards and five touchdowns before being removed midway through the third quarter in a 42-10 Patriots win. Maye recorded four first-half passing touchdowns and became the first quarterback in NFL history with at least 255 passing yards, five touchdowns, and a completion percentage of 90% or higher in a single game. Maye joined Tom Brady and Drew Bledsoe as Patriots quarterbacks with 4,000+ passing yards in a season and became the first Patriots player since Brady in 2014 to throw four or more passing TDs in a half. Maye played while experiencing a runny nose and cough but emphasized that the victory was what mattered.
