Dolphins sign edge rusher to fill need after Jaelan Phillips trade
"MIAMI GARDENS - The Miami Dolphins have signed edge rusher Andre Carter II, a 6-foot-6, 257-pound third-year player, from Detroit's practice squad. Carter, 25, has never appeared in an NFL game but has been on practice squads with the Minnesota Vikings (2023) and Las Vegas Raiders (2024). Carter signed with Minnesota as an undrafted free agent from Army and has an outside chance to make an impact with the Dolphins, who traded edge rusher Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday."
"The Dolphins' healthy edge rushers aside from Carter include Bradley Chubb and Cameron Goode. Chop Robinson, the 2024 first-round pick, is in concussion protocol after being injured in last week's 28-6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The Dolphins have edge rushers Quentin Bell and Derrick McLendon on the practice squad and they could be elevated. Bell has been elevated twice, meaning he must be signed to the active roster after one more elevation. McLendon hasn't been elevated yet this season."
