Dolphins' McDaniel reacts to Chris Grier firing, talks trade deadline and Tua
"For me personally, Chris is a guy that I've worked with every day since I've been here. I'm a human being and, whether it's football or it's life things, you know, that's an emotional toll when you realize things are going to be different."
"Having said that, none of my job and what people depend on me for has anything to do with any of my feelings. It's irrelevant,"
"In the NFL, things change very quickly, so just got to learn how to adapt to stuff like that."
The Miami Dolphins parted ways with general manager Chris Grier, a decision delivered to coach Mike McDaniel by owner Steve Ross. McDaniel described an emotional impact given his daily working relationship with Grier but emphasized that his responsibilities as head coach remain unchanged. McDaniel said he will concentrate on preparing the team for the Sunday game against the Buffalo Bills following the trade deadline. Rookie defensive tackle Kenneth Grant expressed shock and stressed the need to adapt quickly in the NFL. All current roster players were acquired with Grier involved in personnel decisions.
