Dolphins bring back veteran lineman, sign kicker; Cam Smith to be sidelined
Briefly

Kendall Lamm returned to the Miami Dolphins after being released by the Philadelphia Eagles during final roster cuts. Lamm joined Miami late in 2022, moved from the practice squad to the active roster, and served as a reliable reserve swing tackle in 2023 and 2024, starting 15 games when needed due to injuries. Team medical staff report he is currently healthy despite past back concerns. To add Lamm, the Dolphins placed cornerback Cam Smith on the non-football injury/illness list. Backup offensive linemen include Larry Borom, Kion Smith and Daniel Brunskill, with Andrew Meyer on injured reserve and Liam Eichenberg on the PUP list. With kicker Jason Sanders on injured reserve, the team plans to add Riley Patterson to the practice squad.
Lamm, 33, joined Miami late in the 2022 regular season, first on the practice squad and then onto the active roster. The 10-year veteran was a reliable reserve swing tackle in 2023 and 2024, starting 15 games whenever called upon for an injury to left tackle Terron Armstead or another tackle. Grier said "right now he's healthy and feels good," despite concerns over Lamm's back issues.
The Dolphins were entering the 2025 regular season with Larry Borom, Kion Smith and Daniel Brunskill as their backup offensive linemen behind starters, from left to right, Patrick Paul, Jonah Savaiinaea, Aaron Brewer, James Daniels and Austin Jackson. Miami also has Andrew Meyer on injured reserve and Liam Eichenberg on the physically-unable-to-perform list, available to be activated after at least four weeks.
In order to make room for Lamm, the Dolphins are placing cornerback Cam Smith on the non-football injury/illness list. Smith, a 2023 second-round pick who has fallen short of those expectations and been victim of injury in his first two seasons, was on the roster bubble at Tuesday cutdowns, but he was kept on the initial 53-man roster, although he wasn't seen at Tuesday afternoon's practice.
