The Dolphins shifted from a pass-first offense built around Tyreek Hill and Tua Tagovailoa to a smash-mouth, run-first identity centered on De'Von Achane and a reinvigorated offensive line. After falling to 1-6, coach Mike McDaniel adjusted personnel and scheme, inserting jumbo packages and using lineman Daniel Brunskill as a tight end. Rookie guard Jonah Savaiinaea and veteran Cole Strange steadied the line, allowing a more physical approach. The running attack began to dictate games, with center Aaron Brewer saying the unit was breaking opponents' will and creating confusion for defenders at the line of scrimmage.
