""We don't move on, but we do move forward,""
""There's no playbook, there's really not. So that's where the late nights come in, but the biggest thing for me is being strong for our football team,""
""We've got an incredible locker room, that's where the culture of what we're trying to build. We are bonded more than any of us ever could have thought.""
Brian Schottenheimer's heart and the hearts of his players remain heavy after defensive end Marshawn Kneeland's death. The team continues to share, laugh and cry while coping with the loss. The Cowboys do not move on but move forward, focusing on being strong for one another. There is no playbook for handling the grief, prompting late nights and supportive leadership. Players met with grief specialists and held a private candlelight vigil at team headquarters attended by owner Jerry Jones, Kneeland's girlfriend, his agent and his high school coach. A memorial fund was started to support Kneeland's pregnant girlfriend and unborn child. Players were off one day but had been together for meetings and breakout sessions with grief specialists.
