Chiefs WR Rice practices, to play vs. Raiders
"Before the practice, coach Andy Reid said Rice will make his season debut Sunday when the Chiefs host the Las Vegas Raiders (1 p.m. ET, CBS). "How many snaps he gets, [I don't know]," Reid said of Rice. "He's excited to be back in and going. I think getting through practices [this week] will be good for him to get into the swing of things. He's been working hard. He's in good shape.""
"The Chiefs expect Sunday's game to be the first time that Rice, Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown -- the team's top trio of receivers -- will play snaps together. Even without Worthy, the Chiefs have averaged 31.6 points in the past three games, a stretch since Worthy returned to the lineup after he recovered from a dislocated right shoulder injury."
Rashee Rice practiced Wednesday after finishing a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. Coach Andy Reid said Rice will make his season debut Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, though snap count remains uncertain. The Chiefs expect Rice, Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown to play snaps together for the first time. The team has averaged 31.6 points in the past three games since Worthy's return from a dislocated right shoulder. Reid praised the receivers' willingness to check their egos and noted Hollywood Brown's recent exceptional catches. Rice was sentenced in July to 30 days in jail and five years' probation for his role in a multicar crash in Dallas that injured multiple people.
