Chargers expecting RB Harris to start vs. Chiefs
""He says he's ready, and he looks ready to go," Harbaugh said. "Really hard to predict play counts. He's going to play football and have at it. That's the mindset.""
""I'm ramping up to it, just trying to get back in that football shape," Harris said Monday. "But I am feeling good though, and we'll just see where it leads.""
Najee Harris missed all of training camp after sustaining an eye injury in a fireworks mishap but is expected to start Friday's season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs. Coach Jim Harbaugh listed Harris as having fully participated in practice and described him as ready to play while noting play counts are hard to predict. Harris practiced lightly in São Paulo wearing a helmet with a tinted visor and has taken part in just six practices. Harris said he is ramping up to football shape, feels good, and will see how his condition unfolds during the game.
