Chargers agree to multiyear deal with free agent Alec Ingold
"He had played the past four seasons in Miami under Mike McDaniel, who now is offensive coordinator of the Chargers. Ingold made his only Pro Bowl in 2023. His skill as a blocker along with his comfortability as a receiver helped him thrive under McDaniel."
"The deal is for two years and for up to $7.5 million, a source told ESPN. The Miami Dolphins had released Ingold on Friday."
The Los Angeles Chargers agreed to a two-year contract with fullback Alec Ingold for up to $7.5 million after the Miami Dolphins released him. Ingold spent the past four seasons with Miami under offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, who now holds the same position with the Chargers. The 29-year-old made his only Pro Bowl in 2023, excelling as both a blocker and receiver. Previously, Ingold played his first four seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders. His signing likely diminishes fullback Scott Matlock's chances of making the Chargers' roster. The Chargers have been active in the offseason, also recently signing center Tyler Biadasz and outside linebacker Khalil Mack.
