Twenty-six modern-era candidates advanced to the Pro Football Hall of Fame semifinal stage after voting by the 50-member selection committee for the class of 2026. Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Larry Fitzgerald, Jason Witten and Frank Gore reached semifinals in their first year of eligibility. The committee will reduce the list to 15 finalists to be voted on before the Super Bowl. Four players — Willie Anderson, Torry Holt, Luke Kuechly and Adam Vinatieri — already secured spots among the final 15 from the prior year's final seven. Other returning finalists include Eli Manning, Fred Taylor, Steve Smith Sr., Reggie Wayne, Jahri Evans, Marshall Yanda, Terrell Suggs and Darren Woodson. Additional new semifinalists include Lomas Brown and Kevin Williams. The committee will also consider three seniors, one coach and one contributor, and expects to elect four to eight new members.
