After starting 0-3, Texans relish being in playoffs
"We knew this was the game to punch our ticket to get into the playoffs,"
"A lot of guys were dealing with pain, injuries, guys went down on the field. I go talk to Kamari [Lassiter], he's coming up to me [saying] 'Coach, there's no way I'm coming out of this game.' That's the mindset of all of our guys. It's all on the line."
The Houston Texans rallied to clinch a playoff spot with a 20-16 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, completing a turnaround from an 0-3 start. The team also fell to 3-5 and trailed Jacksonville by 19 in Week 10 before rallying for a 36-29 victory. Houston has won eight straight games since that comeback, its second-longest streak in franchise history. The victory featured a 14-0 first-quarter lead followed by offensive stagnation and several injuries, including a knee scare for Kamari Lassiter and a re-aggravated oblique for Derek Stingley Jr. Coach DeMeco Ryans earned a third straight playoff berth.
