"Purdy is dealing with toe and left shoulder injuries that happened in the second quarter of Sunday's win against the Seattle Seahawks. Coach Kyle Shanahan has indicated that the toe is the bigger concern and said Wednesday that it's unlikely Purdy will play against the Saints. "I think it's a long shot," Shanahan said. Asked whether Purdy might miss multiple games as he recovers from the ailments, Shanahan didn't rule it out. "It's possible," Shanahan said."
"General manager John Lynch told the team's flagship radio station KNBR on Thursday that Purdy is considered "week-to-week," a designation the team reached after consulting with team trainers and doctors, along with foot and ankle specialist Dr. Robert Anderson. "What we're dealing with is kind of a week-to-week thing," Lynch said. "That's our information. Brock's doing well, coming back from it. We'll just treat it as such."
"Purdy's addition to the injury report came as a bit of a surprise Monday after he finished the game against Seattle by leading the winning touchdown drive and wasn't mentioned by Shanahan in the postgame injury report. Purdy was 26-of-35 for 277 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Shanahan said Purdy injured the toe while scrambling for 7 yards with about two minutes left in the first half."
Quarterback Brock Purdy suffered toe and left shoulder injuries during the second quarter of the win over the Seattle Seahawks and is unlikely to play against the New Orleans Saints. Coach Kyle Shanahan identified the toe as the primary concern and called Purdy a long shot to play, adding that a multi-game absence is possible. General manager John Lynch described Purdy's status as week-to-week after consultations with team trainers, doctors and foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson. Purdy finished the Seattle game completing 26 of 35 passes for 277 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
