"He's taking what the defense is giving him. They're switching, they're blitzing, they're trying to throw the kitchen sink at him. And he's doing a great job of getting off of it. And he believes in his teammates. And they're making the plays they need to make when they're committing two to the ball."
"Since the All-Star break, Brunson has seen his field goal attempts dip from 20.5 per game to 17.3 in nine games. Even more accentuated over the last four games, Brunson has seen his averages flip and is averaging 18.8 points and 11.8 assists per game."
Jalen Brunson has adjusted his approach following the All-Star break as opposing teams intensify defensive efforts to limit his scoring. Rather than forcing shots against double teams and blitzes, Brunson has become a facilitator, finding open teammates and generating scoring opportunities. His field goal attempts have decreased from 20.5 to 17.3 per game, while his assists have increased to 11.8 per game over nine games. In recent contests, Brunson recorded 15 assists in consecutive games, demonstrating his ability to read defenses and activate the Knicks offense. Coach Mike Brown credits Brunson's willingness to trust teammates and make the right plays when defenders commit multiple players to stopping him.
