Victor Wembanyama, a 22-year-old Spurs star originally from France, feels unsure about his personal safety after ICE actions in Minneapolis. The killing involved 37-year-old Alex Pretti, who was shot numerous times by ICE agents while recording them on his phone. Team public relations advised Wembanyama on how to respond, but he refused to give a politically correct answer. He describes waking each day horrified by the news and questioning his own life. He says fully speaking his mind would carry too great a personal cost and that he is concerned about living in the United States as a foreigner.
