Remco Evenepoel abandoned stage 14 of the 2025 Tour de France on the Col du Tourmalet after struggling significantly. Evenepoel was in third overall and leading the best young rider ranking when he dropped back. He displayed difficulties during the stage 13 uphill time trial, finishing twelfth and was surpassed by Jonas Vingegaard near the line. After initiating the ascent of stage 14, Evenepoel was initially accompanied by a teammate but later dropped back alone and ultimately ended his race by getting into the team car after several agonizing kilometers.

His abandonment came after several kilometres of struggle on stage 14, concluding with a gesture of giving a bidon to a young spectator before leaving the race.
