"I think if I said 'OK,' I think he would play with his cast on or his splint. I think he would. He's just champing at the bit to come back because obviously he loves to play, but he loves his teammates and he loves playing here."
"He'll be back on the floor soon, so that'll be great."
"He's in practice. He's dribbling with his right hand. He's in the huddles."
Caleb Wilson suffered a fractured left hand on Feb. 10 in a loss to Miami, with an MRI confirming the injury after the team returned to Chapel Hill. He left the Miami game and returned in the second half, finishing with 12 points, his lowest of the season. Wilson is averaging 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds and has scored in double figures in all 24 games this season, a UNC freshman record. The university lists him out indefinitely, but he is practicing, dribbling with his right hand, participating in huddles, and progressing toward a return soon. He remains a projected top-five pick in the 2026 NBA draft per ESPN.
