"The education of Nolan Traore continues. And the rookie is proving to be a quick study. Traore's precocious play at the point led Brooklyn to a 123-115 victory over visiting Chicago before a crowd of 17,038 at Barclays Center on Monday. The win came without Egor Dëmin and leading scorer Michael Porter Jr., the Nets coming in just 1-9 without the latter."
""Each time you improve, and when you go out and improve a level it shows progress. It's hard in the beginning, and then it becomes easier," Traore told The Post, adding of his improved finishing, "I think it's just the work - the work I put in every day. And then I'm just getting used to the speed of the game.""
"Brooklyn (15-37) sits fifth in the lottery standings. They're a game behind Washington and two behind New Orleans, pending the Pelicans' result against Sacramento. They're just ½ game clear of sixth-place Utah, with the Jazz playing later Monday night. Traore is the first Nets rookie with a points-assists double-double since Terrence Williams on April 3, 2010. Noah Clowney added 22 points and was 4-of-6 from deep."
Nolan Traore ran a smooth offense and produced a 13-point, 13-assist performance as Brooklyn defeated visiting Chicago 123-115 at Barclays Center. Nic Claxton delivered a career-high 28 points on 12-of-15 shooting along with 10 rebounds. The Nets won despite missing Egor Dëmin and Michael Porter Jr., a combination that previously produced a 1-9 record without Porter. Traore tied for the most assists by a rookie this NBA season and became the first Nets rookie with a points-assists double-double since 2010. Noah Clowney added 22 points, and rookie Danny Wolf contributed 13 points and six rebounds. Chicago closed with a 16-2 run to tie the game entering the fourth, much of which occurred while Traore was on the bench.
