Michael Porter Jr.'s best game of year not enough for Nets in loss to depleted Nuggets
"It's a very unique situation where I think both organizations and both teams benefited from the trade. And I don't look back at it with any saltiness towards the organization or anything,"
"It's just completely different situations. Now I'm the leader on the team, and I'm helping to lead young guys, 19-, 20-, 21-year-olds and teach them about winning, winning habits, winning culture, a lot that I learned from my time in Denver...Now I'm going to be able to share that with young guys, young talented players who will be in the NBA longer than I will. So that's pretty cool, I think."
Michael Porter returned to Denver and delivered a season-best 38 points, going 7-for-14 from three while adding 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals. He played one of the best games of his career but Brooklyn fell 107-103 after surrendering an 8-0 run late. The short-handed Nets, missing Egor Dëmin, Noah Clowney and Cam Thomas, received little scoring support beyond Porter and Terance Mann. Brooklyn dropped their seventh straight and slipped to 12-34 overall and 2-14 in January, affecting lottery positioning as they prepare to play Utah the next night.
