LeBron James and Stephen Curry indicated they do not plan to compete for the U.S. men's basketball team at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. James will be 43 in 2028 and intends to watch rather than participate. Curry will be 40 and described his involvement as highly unlikely while allowing a remote possibility if he retains the physical ability and choice. James has four Olympic appearances with a 2004 bronze and gold medals in 2008, 2012 and 2024. Curry debuted in 2024 and produced a legendary performance in the gold-medal game against France.
