Lakers center Deandre Ayton shares story of LeBron throwing him lob in 2014
"I said, 'that's my second alley-oop from you. The first one was when I was in eighth grade at your camp,' he said, laughing. 'So, yeah it was kind of crazy, you know. Seeing all of that, so it was fun.'"
"I remember the play and everything. He was court hopping and playing with the campers and I remember the one play of him in the drill with me, and he threw that alley-oop, and I finished it. I couldn't believe he threw it. And here I am again, you know, can't believe he threw the lob."
LeBron James made his season debut after missing 14 games with sciatica and threw an alley-oop to Deandre Ayton during a Lakers win over the Utah Jazz. James spun past Cody Williams, lobbed to Ayton, who dunked for his sixth point and James' third assist. Ayton said he first received an alley-oop from James at a 2014 LeBron camp when he was in eighth grade and remembered James court-hopping during drills. Ayton finished with 20 points and 14 rebounds, James had 11 points and 12 assists, and the Lakers won 140-126.
