"With Kawhi, it wasn't just an ankle sprain,"
"He also had a significant sprain in his foot, as well. When he sprained his ankle, it kind of triggered a mechanism in his foot."
"He is making really good progress. We will continue to treat him. We will have a better feel for it next week."
"It is just going to take a period of time to get the inflammation down and start to ramp back up on the court. So he is doing two- to three-a-day treatments, and it is just going to take a little time."
Kawhi Leonard missed his fifth straight game while dealing with a sprained right ankle and a significant sprain in his right foot. The foot sprain occurred when the ankle injury triggered a mechanism in his foot. Leonard has not played since Nov. 3, when he scored 27 points in 37 minutes. The Clippers consulted three doctors, and medical opinions concurred on the diagnosis. Treatment includes two- to three-a-day sessions aimed at reducing inflammation and gradually ramping activity back on the court. Leonard is making progress and will travel with the team on the upcoming six-game trip.
