Jamal Shead continues to lay claim as Raptors' preeminent troubleshooter
"... For example, like Jamal [Shead], I don't think that he did great job [sic] in the first half, he turned the ball over and Jamal as well, he was not shooting the ball great."
"... He's such a character that all he cares about, "How can I find a way to help the team?", and we talked about it at halftime, that he just needs to focus on the next play. That it's it's, it's okay, like he's human. He's not going to have every game, perfect game, and he was able to really be present in the second half and do a really good job for our team."
Jamal Shead recorded five first-quarter assists but also committed three first-half turnovers and continued shooting struggles. He finished 3-for-9 from the field and 1-for-5 from three, matching his recent performance against Miami, and totaled 11 assists. Shead hit a late fourth-quarter three that helped seal a 111-105 win. He posted consecutive double-digit assist games (10 on Dec. 15 and 11 on Dec. 18) and showed improved composure in the second half after a rough start. Shead prioritizes team success over individual numbers and refocused on the next play at halftime.
