Giannis wants to finish career in Greece after NBA
"I'm 30 years old, I can play in the NBA until I'm 36-38. I'd like to end my career in a Greek team, why not?"
"I don't want to live in the United States. As soon as I leave the NBA, I want to return to Greece."
"I could end my career here, whether this team is called Filathlitikos, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, or Aris, I'm talking about all the teams now."
Giannis Antetokounmpo, age 30, will begin his 13th NBA season with the Milwaukee Bucks and remains under contract for the next two seasons before potential free agency in summer 2027. He believes he can play in the NBA until age 36–38 and intends to return to Greece after leaving the league. He expressed a desire to end his career with a Greek team and listed Filathlitikos, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, and Aris as possible destinations. Antetokounmpo began his professional career playing two seasons for Filathlitikos in the Greek B league prior to the 2013 NBA draft.
