Fantasy basketball: The blueprint to the 76ers lineups when Embiid is in or out
"Embiid, the 2022-23 NBA MVP, is a dominant presence on the court when healthy, but he has played only 64 total games in the two-plus seasons since, and played in just six of the 76ers' 12 games this season. The 76ers have typically struggled with Embiid out of the lineup, but this season they seem to have built a team that can be competitive and productive whether Embiid is on the court or not."
"Embiid is the starting center but is on a minutes restriction. After managing only four points in 20 minutes in the opener, in his next five appearances Embiid has averaged 22.8 PPG, 5.4 RPG and 3.6 APG in 24.0 MPG. He's scoring about a point per minute, as he has for the past several seasons, but his rebounding is way down. His backup center, Andre Drummond, plays only 11.6 MPG but grabs more rebounds with 6.8 RPG while scoring 6.8 PPG (44.4 FG%)."
Joel Embiid's availability is the primary variable for the Philadelphia 76ers, with only six appearances in 12 games this season and just 64 games across the past two-plus seasons. The 76ers are 4-2 with Embiid (+2.8 scoring margin) and 3-3 without him (+2.5). Paul George has not yet debuted this season but is expected soon. Embiid is on a minutes restriction and has averaged 22.8 PPG, 5.4 RPG and 3.6 APG in 24.0 MPG after a scoreless opener. His rebounding has declined, while Andre Drummond grabs more rebounds in limited minutes. Tyrese Maxey has become the primary offensive option.
