Fantasy basketball pickups: Sensabaugh, Tyson thriving in current roles
"CloseDr. André Snellings is a senior writer for men's and women's fantasy basketball and sports betting at ESPN. André has a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Michigan. He joined ESPN in 2017 after a 16-year career as a neural engineer, during which time he was also a writer and analyst for Rotowire. Many of the names on this week's list have been in this space before, but have had a recent resurgence or increased opportunity that has put them back on the fantasy radar."
"Ajay Mitchell, PG, Oklahoma City Thunder (45.8%): Mitchell is consistent in his sixth man role. He scores in double figures every night, averaging out around 15 points with three-to-four rebounds and assists each with a 3-pointer and just over a steal per game. Production that is at least stream-worthy, if not flex-starter worthy in deeper leagues."
Several lightly rostered NBA players have recently seen increased opportunity or production, making them worthy of fantasy consideration. Some players have returned from injury or taken advantage of lineup changes to produce consistent scoring, assists and steals. Tre Jones (33.8% rostered) provides low-to-mid teens scoring, seven-plus assists and a steal when starting for Josh Giddey. Ajay Mitchell (45.8% rostered) offers about 15 points, three-to-four rebounds and assists, a 3-pointer and roughly a steal per game in a sixth-man role. Grayson Allen (43.4% rostered) has ramped up scoring since returning from injury.
