Kansas (19-5, 9-2) defeated top-ranked Arizona (23-1, 10-1) 82-78 at Allen Fieldhouse, ending Arizona's unbeaten start. Flory Bidunga scored 23 on 8-for-11 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double. Melvin Council Jr. had 23 points and made 10 of 11 free throws, including three in the final minute. Kansas trailed by as many as 11 and did not take its first lead until 9:32 of the second half. Darryn Peterson was a late scratch with flu-like symptoms after missing time with hamstring, calf and ankle issues. Brayden Burries led Arizona with 25 points while Motiejus Krivas and Ivan Kharchenkov added 14 and 13.
