"That's what our fans crave -- the product on the floor," Clark said after the first day of USA Basketball training camp at Duke University."
"But questions persist on whether both sides will be able to come to an agreement by then - or even whether a work stoppage could be on the horizon. WNBA players and the league continue negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement with a focus on overhauling salary structure and revenue sharing, establishing standards for team facilities and staffing, and improving benefits. The WNBPA and WNBA extended the current CBA through Jan. 9, 2026, as talks continue amid concerns about whether an agreement can be reached in time. Players emphasize both fighting for deserved changes and the need to compromise so basketball can be played for fans. Leaders express frustration with the pace of negotiations but believe a transformative deal is possible amid recent league growth.
