"His beginning wasn't great, but he finished the game better. It was a great lesson for him to have this experience, to go there and play against a big guy similar to his size and strength. Great lesson for him to get better and work on his game."

Yang Hansen started his first NBA game for the Portland Trail Blazers in a 119-96 loss at Memphis after Donovan Clingan and Robert Williams III were unavailable. Williams was a late scratch with an illness and Clingan missed his second straight game with a left lower-leg contusion. Hansen played just over 19 minutes, shooting 2-of-5 for four points and collecting five rebounds, including a third-quarter spin move and dunk over Zach Edey. Hansen took a hard hit and remained on the floor as play continued, prompting coach Tiago Splitter to receive a technical foul for protesting. Hansen averaged 16.2 points and 10 rebounds in his final Qingdao Eagles season.
