"Washington has plenty of eyes on them heading into next season, largely because of the revamped depth chart the team has put together over the last couple months. With intriguing additions to the roster such as CJ McCollum, Tre Johnson, Will Riley and even Marvin Bagley III, Washington has done their due diligence to add talented players that Brian Keefe can use to assemble a variety of different lineups."
"When he first arrived in Washington, it was a bit unknown how the wing would fit in to the Wizards front court. It's clear Brian Keefe will make it a point of emphasis to get the Villanova product involved early, but with several talented wings on the roster, there was no doubt that a fight for minutes would come eventually. Nonetheless, Whitmore may have already carved out a larger role with the Wizards and he didn't even have to break a sweat for that to happen."
General manager Will Dawkins revamped the Washington Wizards roster with several offseason moves, adding veterans and young players to expand depth. The team added CJ McCollum, Tre Johnson, Will Riley and Marvin Bagley III while retaining second-year prospects Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington and Kyshawn George, each positioned for potential breakouts. Washington acquired versatile forward Cam Whitmore from the Houston Rockets after a draft slide caused by a pre-draft injury. Villanova product Whitmore brings upside and could see an increased role under coach Brian Keefe. Bilal Coulibaly's EuroBasket injury, expected to sideline him six to eight weeks, further opens minutes for wings.
