"Rob Dillingham is leaving the Minnesota Timberwolves for the Chicago Bulls as part of the first deal of the NBA deadline day, according to reports. Guard Dillingham and forward Leonard Miller will join the Bulls in return for Ayo Dosunmu and Julian Phillips, ESPN has said (via NBA.com). The 10th-placed team in the Eastern Conference will receive four future second-round picks as part of the agreement, the outlet added."
"Minnesota made Dillingham the eighth overall pick in the 2024 draft but the Kentucky graduate scarcely featured during his rookie season and has been a largely peripheral figure this time around. The Wolves gave the San Antonio Spurs their 2031 unprotected first-round pick and a 2030 swap for Dillingham but the 21-year-old's prospects of playing more regularly were further damaged by the signing of guard Donte DiVincenzo that October."
Rob Dillingham and Leonard Miller will join the Chicago Bulls while Ayo Dosunmu and Julian Phillips are headed to the Minnesota Timberwolves, with Chicago receiving four future second-round picks. Dillingham was the eighth overall pick in 2024 but saw limited playing time as a rookie and remained a peripheral figure this season after Minnesota later signed Donte DiVincenzo. Minnesota previously surrendered a 2031 unprotected first-round pick and a 2030 swap to acquire Dillingham. Miller, a 2023 second-round pick, has made 49 regular-season appearances and is questionable with a back injury. Dosunmu, 26, averages 15 points, three rebounds and 3.6 assists while shooting 51.4% in the final year of a $21 million three-year contract.
